Workforce Solutions Northeast Texas Hosts Industry Tours for High School Teachers

Each Summer, Workforce Solutions Northeast Texas partners with the Region 8 Education Service Center and area employers to host Industry Tours. Tour guests include Career and Technology Teachers from High Schools across the region. The tours are designed to give the teachers a better understanding of industry operations at the local level. Each tour site provides the teachers with a brief overview of the operation and then a tour of the facility. Tours include information about the company’s employees, their job responsibilities and skill sets. Teachers can relay this insight to their students, making them aware of the types of jobs available in the area and the required education/training. Teachers that attend the tour also receive professional development credit.

This year, the group included teachers from Paris, Liberty Eylau, Mount Pleasant, Sulphur Springs, Greenville, North Hopkins, Sulphur Bluff, Pittsburg and Pewitt.

Tour sites included:

Campbell Soup

Titus Regional Medical Center

Dekoron Wire and Cable

Thank you to all of our participating employers for hosting the tour group.
