The first L.E.A.P. (Learning Endorsements and Professions) Youth Career Expo was held on May 12 at the Texarkana Convention Center.  Hosted by Workforce Solutions Northeast Texas, the event invited 8th graders from the area to meet and interact with local employers and professionals.  The event gave students an inside and hands on look at many of the professions available in the local job market.  Eighth grade students in Texas start making some early career choices prior to entering high school.  These students left with a better of understanding of the careers and better prepared to make career choices now and in the future.  AEP Swepco and Express Employment Professional sponsored this year’s event.
