Workforce Solutions Northeast Texas hosted the Teacher Externship program during the summer of 2022.  Externships are designed to connect high school career and technology teachers with local employers.  Fourteen teachers, from eight different school districts participated in the program.  Externship locations included 5 healthcare, 6 manufacturing, and 2 information technology employers in Northeast Texas.  Teachers spent a week at their externship location learning the operations and workforce needs of the employer.  Each teacher was required to create a lesson plan based on their experience.  These lesson plans will be used in the classroom this year to help connect students to career related information and opportunities in Northeast Texas.
