Many employers are looking for someone knowledgeable in Microsoft Office products or certain accounting software programs such as QuickBooks. There are a number of organizations that offer this type of training, allowing you to learn these skills in a matter of weeks.
Training is available through the Continuing Education departments at the local community colleges. There are also a number of self-paced training programs available online.
